iFrames

Now this is something that i cant seem to find anywhere on the internet on how to do. Its pretty simple once you get the hang of it so watch and learn!

1.

Okay so first thing you need is a coded layout. Yes a normally coded layout. Once it would be all ready and you even have the box coded where you want to put the iframe then you will need this code.
<iframe src="URL HERE" name="main" width="###px" height="###px" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Next go to your coded layout and find the box that you have coded for you main content and where you want the iframe to appear. It should look something like this.
<div style="position: absolute; left: ##px; top: ##px; width: ###px; height: ###px;"> Text Here </div>

Now once you have identified each of those codes it is time to put them together. When doing this you have to be sure to match the width & height of both bits of coding exactly or the iframe wont be the right size. It will then look something like this:
<div style="position: absolute; left: ##px; top: ##px; width: 555px; height: 444px;"> <iframe src="URL HERE" name="main" width="555px" height="444px" frameborder="0"></iframe> </div>
Notice how the number match?

Now that you have all that done, the touch stuff is finished. Kinda. next you will see in the iframe code where it says URL HERE? Well you now need to get the url to your page that has your updates or w/e it is you want in the box. If you want to link it to cutenews your host fro that will probably have given you a url that you can stick in there. Once this is finished it should look something like this.

Got all that?

Once that is all finished your code will now work. But you are not finished. Noppers there is still more. Well you may have noticed the bit of coding in the iframe part that says name="main". This is for your links that you have on the page the iframe is one. Any links on that page will need to be formed like this.
<a href="URL HERE" target="main">TEXT</a>
I you miss the TARGET part the links will not open in your iframe. This is important.

Now you are pretty much done. Just go to all the pages that will show up IN your iframe and make sure you do not have the code for the layout on them. You should keep the STYLE part so that all the colors are the same and make sure to have a background on those pages the same as the background on your layout.
